The first cove to be met rounding Punta Avoltore towards Porto Ercole is Cala dei Santi, the oldest site of the headland. In the cave bearing the same name several items have been found testifying the human presence in far off times.
According to the locals this name given to the cave is also due to the odd shapes of stalactites and stalagmites reminding the saints. On this same coastal stretch there is the Grotta Azzurra, similar to the cave in Capri daylight gives azure reflections to the water.
