This small bay hides the remains of one of the tanks used for fish breeding called Domiziane from the name of the Domizi Enobarbi Family. These are the remains from the ancient Roman villa that had been in the possession of several Roman Emperors, among them Nerone, who loved to fish for sea-bass and muges bred in these tanks.
The seabed is rich in Posidonia here taking the characteristic of outcropping in its capacity of growing both in width and in height. It is a very rare ecosystem along the coast and only present in two other areas in Italy.
