Big tower-fortress dominating the two inlets that shape Porto S. Stefano harbour. It was built at the start of 17th century and thanks to its presence the first Argentario northern harbour stable settlement was born. It sets down on a 35x35 metre square base with 6 metres thick walls and has two terraces at different height levels.
It was the subject to many military events and maintained its defensive function until the second half of 19th century. Nowadays it houses two museums: Submerged memories and Shipwrights.
